(Lavendula angustifolia – mint family)
Anyone who sits next to blooming lavender in summer will be able to observe bees, wild bees, fur bees, bumblebees and butterflies up close, because blooming lavender is constantly humming....
For us humans, lavender is both calming (when we're hyper) and stimulating (when we're tired), it has a clarifying effect on the skin and it is also anti-inflammatory. Lavender can also be helpful for headaches and discomfort (although if you take too high a dose, it triggers exactly that).
Lavender also has an anti-infective effect and is suitable for cleaning sick rooms.
